Father Marc S. Gherardi, OSFS
Tuesday, March 17 – Thursday March 19 – (6:30 PM – Church)
What Does “Oblate” Mean?
The word Oblate comes from the Latin oblatus, meaning “one who is offered.” The motto of the Oblates,
Tenui nec dimittam -“I have taken hold and will not let go” (Song of Songs 3:4) —
expresses the strength and tenacity of God’s love.
In these words, we are invited to hear Jesus speaking to each of us: “I have taken hold and will not let go.” When we hear, repeat, and believe these words throughout our lives, they shape us into who we are truly called to be —
people who love, follow, and live for Jesus.
